I tell you, those lunch meats go down quickly after 5 or 6 people make lunch!

Cook homegrown meat before hand

Not only are we blessed to have an abundance of pork at our fingertips, we also have our own, pasture-raised chicken and beef.

Being prepared before the workweek starts is key to providing good, healthy meat for lunches.

Our favourite pork cuts to cook beforehand include:

  • Black Forest Ham
  • Bacon
  • Sausages

Other options are:

  • Ground pork – make tacos to go
  • Thinly sliced pork chops
  • Pulled pork (roasts)

For chicken:

  • we often have a bit of left over breast meat from a previous meal.
  • It’s easy to whip up a chicken salad or a chicken wrap with that tasty meat.
  • Or, cut up a whole chicken on a Saturday and deep fry it. You WON’T regret that. Fried, pastured chicken…there’s absolutely nothing like it.

The best part about these healthy lunch meats?

It doesn’t disappear as quickly as processed meats.

Why not? It definitely tastes better.

Because pastured meats are more filling, have more flavour, and you can make it stretch a LOT longer.

After you taste these meat lunch ideas, you nor your kids will want to go back.

Would you like try pastured pork or chicken?
